Gang loots village in one go

KASUR, Aug: A gang of 25 dacoits wreaked havoc in Sarasar Hathar village on Sunday night taking away cash, valuables and gold worth millions in the mass dacoity.

The gang looted gold worth Rs1 million, cash and other valuables from six houses in one go and injured a man for challenging them.

The gangsters started from the house of Dr Muhammad Aslam. At midnight, they knocked at the door of the doctor, saying they had a patient to get checked. When Aslam opened the door, dacoits held him hostage and looted gold and cash from his house. Later, the intruders forced the doctor to go with them and knock at the door of Maj (retd) Muhammad Sarwar. The gang also collected licensed weapons, eight tola gold ornaments, Rs20,000 and other valuables from there.

The next target was the house of Muhammad Shafi.

Dacoits got enraged when Shafi scuffled with a dacoit for insulting women. One of the dacoits opened fire leaving Shafi injured. From there, the dacoits moved to the house of lumberdar Muhammad Jaffar, who knowing about the presence of the gang in the village, refused to open the door. Dacoits showered indiscriminate fire on the door and broke it. They thrashed Jaffar and later took away, gold, cash, weapons and other valuables from his house.
