PESHAWAR: Protests against loadshedding, water shortage

PESHAWAR, July 31: The residents of various localities here on Thursday staged protest demonstrations against the prolonged power suspensions in parts of the city.

The demonstrations were held at Gulbahar Chowk, College Chowk Faqirabad, and Dalazak road near Saeedabad bridge.

The protestors blocked link roads and chanted slogans against the officials of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) for their failure to ensure smooth supply of power.

The demonstrators said that due to the prolonged power outages they were unable to take rest, and the children, elderly and patients were the worst affected.

Some of them said due to fluctuations in voltage electronic gadgets like refrigerators, televisions and computers of many people had been damaged.
