THATTA, July 30: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has seized relevant record following registration of FIRs against some revenue officials, and 29 landlords, mostly affiliated with the PML-Q, for fraudulently getting changed the title deeds of over 8,000 acres of state land in their names.
Recently a team of ACE headed by Circle Officer Syed Aftab Ali Shah conducted a raid on Keti Bunder taluka revenue office and arrested two collectors (tapedars) - Hussain Bijoro and Allah Bux Khaskheli for their alleged involvement in racket.
Circle Officer told Dawn that during the governance of PML-Q, dozens of influential landlords in connivance with revenue officials fraudulently got changed papers of fertile state land in Kharochhan, Keti Bunder and Kohistan in Thatta district in their names, availed millions of rupees of agricultural loan and majority later sold the land to outsiders.
Most land, the circle officer said, was disposed off in Deh Tameri and Haleji. He said the ACE also initiated an inquiry on the orders of Director anti-corruption for usurpation of funds by officials of nation building departments during fiscal closing in June, this year. He said the department had collected evidence to prove that the officers in pretext of tenders A-I and B-I showing earthwork and other repair and renovation extracted public fund and misappropriated the same.—Correspondent
