KHAR, July 29: A 16-month-old child of a village in Bajaur Agency has tested positive for polio.
Officials said that Mehran Khan of Nawagai village had not been given oral polio vaccine because of opposition by his parents.
However, they said the virus detected in the boy was P3, not a dangerous form of the disease.
The officials said that more than 5,000 children in the village had not been administered polio drops over the past three years because of opposition by the Taliban.
