KARACHI, July 28: A former chairman of Pakistan Flour Mills Association, Sindh Circle, has alleged that wheat flour and maida is being openly transported by National Logistic Cell (NLC) trailers and also by private trucks to other provinces despite a ban on inter-provincial movement by the Punjab government.
Chaudhry Ansar Jawed also alleged that the transportation was being done from Punjab to Sindh and other provinces after making “gratification payment” at the border check-posts for which the consumers have to pay heavily.
Millers in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and other cities have been greatly hurt by the Punjab government’s decision to restrict inter-provincial wheat movement.
