BUNER, July 25: Hundreds of deserving people thronged the local office of Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) to get release slips for the 13th installment of the financial assistance on Friday. The problem arose owing to the fact that the release of installment was announced with a delay of almost two months. The two staffers at the PBM office had to call the police to control the rush of people and had to close the office to get the people dispersed.
More than 6,000 people including elderly men and women had travelled from far off localities to reach the PBM office. Later, they marched to the Buner Press Club to protest against the Baitul Mal. They lamented that they were made to visit the Baitul Mal office to get the release slips.
They demanded of the authorities to direct the post offices to pay the amount to those people who possessed Baitul Mal cards instead of directing them to first contact the Baitul Mal office for release slips.
