LAHORE, July 19: The Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) has imparted basic computer training to 100 judicial officers under a three-week Basic Computer Training Programme.

The participants were given training on fundamentals of computer, hardware, web browsing, internet and components of MS Office.

PUCIT Principal Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar said the training programme was all success as the judicial officers attended the training programme with full enthusiasm. He hoped the computer training would enhance the performance of these judicial officers on their workplaces and cope with the modern digital world.

Closing ceremony of the training programme will be held in the seminar hall of the college at 7pm on Monday (tomorrow). Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will distribute certificates among the participants.

SURPRISE VISIT: The VC on Saturday paid surprise visit to the PU examination centre on Wahdat Road and reviewed arrangements and facilities being provided to MA/MSc candidates.

On the occasion, the VC talked to candidates, invigilators and superintendents.

Talking to candidates, the VC inquired about cleanliness, cold drinking water and provision of electricity on which they expressed satisfaction. Prof Kamran instructed the officials concerned to make better arrangements of cleanliness and provision of cold drinking water.

Talking to media persons, the VC said that pedestal fans had been provided in the examination centre along with ceiling fans. He said special sitting arrangements had been made for parents/guardians of female students and they had also been provided the facility of cold drinking water.

Additional Controller of Examination Malik Muhammad Zaheer, Prof Dr Jamil Anwar Chaudhry and Prof Dr Shaukat Ali were also present on the occasion.
