SHEIKHUPURA, July 17: Pakistan People’s Party Senior Vice-Chairman Amin Fahim has said categorically that the government has failed to provide any relief to the masses who had pinned hopes on the coalition.
Mr Fahim was talking to journalists at Khanqah Dogran in Nankana Sahib, from where he visited the shrine of Haji Baba Dewan Shah on Thursday.
He blamed the unbridled price-hike and deteriorating law and order situation on ‘wrong policies’ of the government.
“The late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto were genuine leaders, but the present PPP leadership (emerged after Benazir Bhutto’s assassination) is a new party. Those leaders and activists, who had offered sacrifices, have been sidelined,” he said.
“The party would, however, get out of the hands of ‘hijackers’ very soon,” he added.
Mr Fahim said the judges should have been restored much earlier. He said the government should improve the situation in tribal areas by holding dialogues with the locals.
