VEHARI, July 17: Traders staged a protest demonstration on Thursday at Pakistan Chowk against unscheduled loadshedding, price hike and increase in tax.

The protesters, led by Arshad Bhatti, Haji Taj Din and Rao Khalil, took a round of various city roads and raised slogans against the government.

At Pakistan Chowk, speakers condemned the recent increase in tax, prices of petroleum products, CNG and other daily-use items and unannounced outages.

They said the government should adopt pro-poor policies. They demanded withdrawal of the withholding tax. They said if the government did not withdraw the withholding tax, they would have no other option except to continue their protest.
