Two killed over karo-kari

NAWABSHAH, July 16: A man and a woman were shot dead on the pretext of karo-kari near Sakrand on Wednesday.

Mumtaz Ali Jalbani, 30, and Rasheeda, 28, were shot dead by the latter’s husband, Khuda Bux Jalbani, in Mari Jalbani village.

The area police took the bodies to Sakrand taluka hospital for the post-mortem. No FIR was lodged till filing of this report.

PROTEST: Residents of Mohammed Siddique Dahiri village held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday to protest against Qazi Ahmed police.

Ali Hassan and Mubin Ahmed Dahiri told journalists that the Qazi Ahmed police had arrested their brother, Bero Dahiri, and implicated him in a false narcotics case.

They said they were the supporters of Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Khan Mohammed Dahiri and were being pressurised for changing their loyalties.

They demanded of higher police authorities to take notice of police atrocities and provide them justice.

ROBBERY: Five dacoits looted a passenger coach on National Highway near Qazi Ahmed area on Wednesday.

The dacoits got on the Hyderabad-bound coach from Moro.As the coach reached Qazi Ahmed town, the dacoits got hold of the driver and passengers at gunpoint and looted cash, jewellery, and other valuables.

The dacoits also beat up some of the passengers when they tried to offer resistance. The highwaymen got off the coach at Rein Shakh canal.

Later, the passengers staged a demonstration which led to the suspension of traffic for some time. The police reached on the spot, and assured the passengers that the culprits would be arrested after which the coach moved on towards its destination.
