Talks cancelled

ISLAMABAD, July 14: A two-day meeting of the heads of federal investigation agencies of India and Pakistan scheduled to be held from Tuesday in Islamabad has been cancelled, ostensibly due to heightened tensions in the aftermath of the deadly Indian embassy blast in Kabul.

The Indian delegation led by CBI Director Vijay Shankar was to arrive here on Monday, but sources said the trip had been cancelled.

Officially no reason has been given for the cancellation.

It is believed that the cancellation came because of tensions between the two countries following the car bomb attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul last week.
