LAHORE, July 8: Robberies remained a business as usual, with a major strike at a Defence Housing Authority residence on Tuesday.
Armed men plundered Rs145,000 in cash and two cell phones from a house at DHA. Defence-A police said two robbers barged into Saifullah Khan’s house in K Block, held up inmates and took away cash and two cell phones.
Four robbers stormed an office of goods transport on Bund Road and took away Rs68,500 in cash and three cell phones. In another strike, three robbers burst into Ajmal’s house in the Muslim Town police precinct and decamped with gold ornaments weighing eight tolas.
Three armed men looted Rs20,000 in cash, jewellery and other valuables from Amir Rafique’s house. Two robbers barged into the house of Bilal Yameen (Hanjarwal police area) and escaped with a bagful of Rs25,000 in cash, a TV set and two cell phones.
Muhammad Haneef, a resident of Burki police area, was deprived of Rs37,000 in cash and a pistol as robbers targeted his house.
Among many incidents of street crime, robbers snatched Rs35,000 in cash and cell phone from one Nauman in Ghalib Market police jurisdiction.
