RIYADH, July 6: A proposed monorail project to serve Haj pilgrims will be completed by 2010.

Pilgrims travelling between Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa may be able to use the monorail by 2010, a local newspaper reported.

Nine international companies have been invited to bid for the SR5-billion project. Work on the project is expected to start before Haj this year.

The project will be completed in 18 months.
