ATTOCK, June 26: The lawyers observed a complete boycott of the courts here on Thursday to show their solidarity with the deposed judges.
The lawyers throughout the day remained in the bar rooms and did not attend the court proceedings.
Talking to mediapersons, senior lawyers on the occasion said the strike would continue on each Thursday as announced by the Pakistan Bar Council.
“Long march proved to be a referendum for restoration of the deposed judges and impeachment of President Musharraf,” they maintained and demanded for immediate reinstatement of the judges through a parliamentary resolution or an executive order.
They said objective of the long march was to create awareness among the public about the issue and register a peaceful protest against delay in the restoration of the judges.—Correspondent
