LAHORE, June 23: Condemning the abduction of 16 Christians and a Muslim by a religious extremist organisation in Banarasabad, Peshawar, the Commission for Peace and Human Development (CPHD) has said the incident showed a new approach towards harassment of the disadvanted citizens on the basis of religion.

It said the heinous act of kidnapping and maltreating the Christians on the basis of interpretation of religion was the result of growing religious intolerance.
