LAHORE, June 19: The resolve to follow the leadership of the community was the highlight of the lawyers’ first protest on Thursday after their long march.
Organised by the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on the call of the Pakistan Bar Council, the show was, however, poor compared with similar demonstrations on Thursdays as the participation of lawyers and political activists was thin.
Protesting lawyers of both the bars jointly marched towards the Punjab Assembly, holding black flags and chanting slogans against President Pervez Musharraf and incumbent judges of the higher judiciary. Unlike the previous routine, the traders did not shower rose petals on the protesting lawyers.
