SHIKARPUR, June 16: A large number of the followers of Hussainabad Dargah Qambar staged a demonstration and a sit-in outside the offices of DPO on Monday to protest against police’s failure in tracing three kidnapped men.

Bandits had kidnapped Abdul Rasool Chachar, Abdul Karim Solangi, Abdul Haleem Solangi, Sabir Hussain Solangi and Hussain Solangi from bypass near Toll Plaza in the jurisdiction of New Foujdari police station some 12 days ago when they were going to Dargah Hussainabad Qambar.

The kidnappers later freed two of the hostages, Sabir Hussain Solangi and Hussain Solangi, the same night and took away the three in the kidnappees’ car. Police assured they would find the hostages but failed, the protesters complained.

The protesters led by Manjhi Khan Mazari, district Ameer of Hussaini Tanzeem Kashmore, Moulvi Sharafuddin Chachar, Faqir Hussain, Abdul Shakoor Khoso, Faqir Faiz Muhammad Chachar and Faqir Rustam Ali demanded early recovery of the hostages.

They ended the demonstration after SPO of City Niaz Ahmed Chandio assured them that police would find the hostages within two days.

KILLED: One Ghulam Ali Marfani killed his 24-year-old wife, Ms Najma, in Baqar Shah village in the jurisdiction of Garhi Yasin police station on Monday. The motive behind the murder is said to be some domestic matters.

SHOT DEAD: One Abdul Hafeez Jatoi was killed when a gang of thieves opened fire on him in Haji Abdul Rehman Jatoi village in the Lakhi area late on Sunday night.

A gang of thieves barged into the house of Jatoi and opened fire when the inmates put up resistance. Police took the body to Shikarpur Civil Hospital for post-mortem, and later handed it over to relatives.
