Farhan in last 16

KARACHI, May 2: Sixth seed Farhan Mirza reached last 16 of 19th Asian snooker championship after overwhelming China’s Da Hailin 4-1 in the last league match, says a message Thursday.

Farhan chalked up breaks of 32 and 64 in the second and the third frames before scoring a 70-46, 92-19, 72-36, 46-67, 55-23 victory over the Chinese.

Farhan will take on Chan Wai Kai of Hong Kong later tonight.

The Pakistan No. 1, Khurram Hussain Agha, playing his first Asian overseas game, defeated Randy Wong of Brunei 4-2.

Khurram was trailing 1-2 but clinched the match by wrapping the last three frames. The Pakistani won 65-09, 13-67, 41-82, 67-09, 65-42, 84-35.

The Chinese cueists had great time as five of them stormed into the last 16 grade.
