Three ‘terrorists’ remanded in FIA custody

RAWALPINDI, June 14: An anti-terrorism court here on Saturday remanded three suspected terrorists into three days physical custody of FIA. The FIA sought five days physical custody of the accused Mohammad Zameer, Tauqir Ahmed and Mohammad

Sajjad all residents of Havelian. They were arrested from Sadiqabad.

The accused are booked in a case under sections 4, 5 of Explosive Act, 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of Pakistan Penal Code and section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act with Sadiqabad police station on June 2.

In their request to the court the FIA stated that a large quantity of explosive material was recovered from them and further recovery was to be made.

They also said that further interrogation from the accused was needed to extract information about other accused.

The police had already obtained the physical custody of six other accused Abdul Manan a resident of Rawalpindi, Abid Khan a resident of Tank, Mohammad Ishaq a resident of Peshawar, Mohammad Kabir a resident of Havelian, Qamaruz Zaman a resident of Dera Ismail Khan and Zafar Ali a resident of Kohat for ten days. The accused are presently in the custody of FIA.

Rawalpindi police along with other security agencies cordoned off an area in Dhoke Kala Khan and carried out a search on the tip off and sized three explosive laden vehicles and arrested the accused men on June 1.
