DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 12: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday even though he supported the lawyers-led long march, his government would not let lawyers create any law and order situation in the province. He said this at a ceremony to lay foundation stone of Ghazi Khan Medical College.
Mr Sharif also announced degree colleges for Choti Zaireen and Kot Qaisrani to fulfill promises made by former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa. He also laid foundation plaque of water supply and sewage system projects for Dera Ghazi Khan.
The government did not invite District Nazim Maqsood Leghari to any ceremony or meeting. Officials stopped him entering the airport lounge to keep him away from the chief minister. Mr Leghari, however, managed sneaking in the lounge, but to his utter dismay Mr Sharif showed him the cold shoulder. While addressing a public meeting at Circuit House, the chief minister suspended an officer for arranging carpets at the venue to greet him. The official, however, was reinstated, on a request by PML-N Punjab President Zulfiqar Khosa.
Mr Sharif also visited Taunsa and met PML-N MPA Mir Badshah Qaisrani.
