HYDERABAD, May 1: The provincial general-secretary, All Pakistan Trade Unions Organisations (APTUO), Mehboob Ali Qureshi, has called upon the authorities concerned to take notice of what he called “illegal activities” of Sindhi Adabi Board (SAB), Jamshoro.

He was talking to a team of the board employees, which called on him in his office here the other day.

Mr Qureshi said the increase in the salaries of government employees was commensurate with the hike in the prices of goods and services. He also urged the government to increase the house rent of the employees.

He said that it was owing to the personal whims of the board administration that it was suffering losses, and claimed that a conspiracy was afoot to wind up the board.

The employees of the board and their families, he also said, were being made to starve due to non-payment of their salaries. Other facilities which were being enjoyed by the employees for the last so many years, had also been withdrawn.

All these anti workers steps indicated that the board administration was incompetent to operate the press, he said and demanded that the employees should be paid their salaries for the last three months and all other facilities should also be restored.

He also appealed to the President, Federal Labour Ministry and Balochistan administration to order the unconditional release of civil servants arrested in Quetta.

RESULTS: The controller announced the result of MBBS part-III annual examination 2002, of the Peoples Medical College for girls, Nawabshah.

Tabinda Aslam, daughter of Syed Ali Aslam Jafri, seat No. 141, secured first position. Shaista Khwaja, daughter of Mohibullah Khuwaja, seat No.124, and Rizwana Memon daughter of Ghulam Qadir Memon, seat No.84, stood second and third in the examinations, respectively.
