SHEIKHUPURA, May 6: Punjab Finance Minister Chaudhry Tanvir Ashraf Kaira paid a surprise raid to Rehmat Flour Mills located on Faisalabad Road and recovered 9,700 wheat bags on Tuesday.

After receiving information, the minister visited the mills from Lahore. He was accompanied by the DCO, DPO and food department officials. Later, the minister sealed the godowns and ordered an inquiry against the mill owners.

He said the provincial government was making all-out efforts to overcome the flour crisis and it would be resolved shortly.

The minister directed district nazim media coordinator Shalam Rasool Shehzad to point out the elements involved in wheat hoarding. — Correspondent
