SHEIKHUPURA, May 6: Scores of residents of Feroze Watwan and adjoining areas staged a protest rally and blocked traffic on Faisalabad Road for an hour against unscheduled 20-hour daily power loadshedding here on Tuesday.

The protesters burnt tyres and besieged the Wapda complaint office as a result the staffers left the premises.

The protesters chanted slogans against Warburton SDO, Nankana XEN and Sheikhupura Wapda SE.

Protesters’ representative Mr Shahzad told newsmen that the Wapda highups declined to meet them. He said though the country was facing a severe power crisis, their areas were witnessing worst-ever outages. — Correspondent
