Ex-MPA, others booked under ATA

NAWABSHAH, May 5: The Daulatpur police on Monday booked 400 people, including a former MPA of Pakistan Muslim League-Q, under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and 324 and 427 of the PPC.

Former MPA Dr Bahadur Dahiri, Dr Ashiq Dahiri, Mithal Dahiri and others have been booked on the charge of attacking a Pakistan People’s Party office and forcing the shopkeepers to close their shops in Daulatpur town on Sunday.

The police raided kutcha areas of Nawabshah district on Sunday, including the village of the district president of the PML-Q, Khan Mohammed Dahiri, arrested over 15 people and recovered arms and motorcycles.

Jan Mohammed Dahiri, father of the PML-Q leader, alleged that they were being politically victimised.

Rallies were taken out in Daulatpur and Shahpur Jehanian and shops were closed in the former town in protest against the police action.

KILLED: Unidentified armed men shot dead two men after disembarking them from a car near Khair Shah village on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Pario, 45 and his nephew Akbar, 20. They were going in a car from Nawabshah to Doulatpur.
