Kidnapped men freed after paying ransom

SUKKUR May 3: The chairman of Sukkur Goods Transport Association, Abdul Ghaffar Qasmani, and his son, Abdul Hannan, who were kidnapped by dacoits on Thursday night, returned home back safely on Friday after striking a deal with the kidnappers.

According to reports, on the midnight of Thursday and Friday, Mr Abdul Ghaffar and his son in a car were returning from the fruit and vegetable market when they were kidnapped by the dacoits who took them to the katcha area of Madaiji on Larkana road.

In the meantime, Abdul Hannan shouted for help, on his cries the villagers of the nearby areas rushed to the scene. Sensing the danger the dacoits tortured the hostages and snatched Rs0.2 million from them and three mobile phones and fled in their car, leaving them behind.

Some sources claimed that Abdul Ghaffar had entered into a deal with the kidnappers and gave them the cash and promised to give them more money later on.—BoC
