Nazims boycott council session

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 2: Union council nazims backed by the National People’s Party boycotted the district council session in protest here on Friday when it began it’s four-day session.

UC-3 nazim of Moro, Mohammad Hashim Navel, UC nazim of

Kot Bahadur, Bahadur Ali Naich and Malik Shahid of UC Behlani, complained against the PPP government and alleged that NPP supporters were being subjected to victimisation.

They alleged that the food controller, along with what they termed Magsi force, was raiding godowns of NPP supporters only and exempting the PPP supporters who had also hoarded wheat.

They referred to the raids on Shah cotton factory Bhirya town, Ghausia cotton factory Moro, shopkeeper Abdul Waheed of New Jatoi and others from where 5000, 5500 and 300 bags of wheat were recovered.

They alleged that their supporters were attacked a few day back in Moro but police refused to lodge FIR. They also alleged that female teachers, belonging to NPP, were transferred from Moro to Naushahro Feroze without any reason.

NPP has a majority in the district council while only a few members out of 52 belonged to Awam Dost Panel.

FIRE: Four houses were gutted when fire broke out in village Soomar Khaskheli near Padidan on Friday. As a result of fire, four buffalos, one cow, four goats, 200 maunds of wheat and other valuables were reduced to ashes.
