Protocol officer blamed for murder

DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 30: A man, whose son had been killed in a ‘gunplay’ by Sadar police in March last, has appealed to Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa for the arrest of the SHO who is now performing his protocol and security duty in DG Khan.

In his appeal to the chief minister, Shamla, the father of deceased Ajmal, alleged that the Sadar police had picked up his son from Sameena Chowk and subjected him to severe torture. He said the very next day of his son’s detention, SHO Iqbal Chandia had shot him dead and later showed in the record that he was killed in an encounter.

He said the medico-legal report proved that his son was fired at a close range.

Shamla alleged that the DIG, the DPO and the SDPO were trying to put the incident on the back burner by assigning an important duty to the accused police officer.

It may be mentioned that Shamla and other villagers had staged a protest outside the Aiwan-i-Adl and the DIG office for the registration of a murder case against the SHO who was notorious for killing people in staged encounters.

It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa awarded him commendation certificate for his ‘excellent performance’ on Tuesday in a feast arranged by PML-N workers.

Shamla made frantic efforts to meet the chief minister, but he was not allowed to meet him. — Correspondent
