DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 23: Despite house arrest and the declaration of his house as sub-jail, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman performed the Nikah Haji Muhammad Amin Nomani’s son, on Oct 21.

According to details, a marriage procession comprising almost 60 people from Shorkot were refused entry into the house of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman by police.

The people insisted and staged a sit-in from the Maulana’s house.

After some time, the bridegroom, his father, bride’s father and a few of their relatives were allowed inside the house where the Maulana performed Nikah.

Among the Maulana’s other visitors was Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri who managed to evade security in an extraordinary getup of an ordinary man.

However, Mufti Nizam-ud-Din Shamzai of Tehrik Al-Furqan who had come from Karachi was not so lucky.
