SUKKUR, April 29: Dealers of kerosene in Sukkur region are facing difficulty due to alleged discriminatory policy of the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) as according to them, the company was forcing them to purchase crude oil with kerosene.
According to Secretary-General of the Kerosene Merchants Association, Abdul Rehman Ansari, PSO was forcing the dealers to purchase crude oil with kerosene. He said that with this compulsion, the rates of kerosene would register an increase, as crude oil was not commonly used.
Mr Ansari said that due to loadshedding, sale of kerosene has increased. He alleged that PSO officials were selling 80 per cent of kerosene in Punjab, causing a shortage in upper Sindh.
He complained that due to discriminatory policy of Sukkur based PSO officials, kerosene dealers of Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Ghotki and Jacobabad districts were experiencing difficulties.
