Four killed in Pindi, Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, April 27: Four persons were killed in separate incidents in the twin cities during the last 24 hours, police said on Sunday.

In the first accident, Mohammad Shakeel, 24, suffered multiple injuries after being hit by a speeding dumper at Parc Chowk near Peshawar Mor.

He was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police arrested the driver of the dumper and also impounded the vehicle.

In another incident, a woman - Nazia Bibi - was seriously injured after being hit by a dumper when she was crossing the road at I-11/4.

She was taken to the hospital where she died during treatment. The vehicle’s driver escaped from the scene.

A man was shot dead by unidentified persons in his house at Sadiqabad in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Nadeem Shahzad, a vendor, was shot dead by some unidentified persons in his house.

Khawaja Mohammad Hanif, the father of the deceased complained to the police that his son had been murdered in his house.

He said he had no enmity with anybody.

Meanwhile, Rizwan Ahmed was murdered by some unidentified persons in Rawat.

The motive behind the murder is being investigated by the police.
