DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 27: During first-ever visit to his hometown after assuming top slot of the province, Chief minister Dost Mohammed Khosa on Sunday announced establishing a medical college and clean drinking water plant in the city.
Addressing a banquet hosted in his honour by a local leader, the chief minister also directed the dualisation of the 90-kilometre Dera-Multan Road. He thanked the people of his city for giving him a historic reception. The people expressed their satisfaction over fullfilment of their much-awaited demands.
Earlier, Khosa arrived here by road and a large number of locals received him at the Ghazi Ghat Bridge. His motorcade was escorted to the city’s Circuit House in a big procession.
Later, he had a briefing from district government officials regarding development works and administrative affairs. He directed the officials to discharge their duties properly and serve the masses.
Neither District Nazim Maqsood Ahmed Khan Leghari nor any of the three tehsil nazims, Usman Buzdar of Tribal Area tehsil, Mehmood Qadir of Dera Ghazi Khan tehsil and Salahuddin Khawaja of Taunsa Sharif tehsil, came to receive the chief minister.
Leghari and Khosa have political differences when the latter was district naib nazim and due to their ‘potential’ rivalry district council remained almost defunct except for a few budgetary meetings.
