THATTA, April 16: Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palijo has said that the People’s Party government will mobilise all available resources to explore and preserve the heritage and culture of Sindh and would involve young generation in this task.
She was talking to newsmen at Palijo House Makli here on Tuesday.
She said many sites particularly the legendary Keenjhar lake, the protected sanctuary Haleji, Gorakh hill, Asia’s biggest necropolis at Makli, Moenjodaro, Ranni Kot, Bhambhore, and other sites have great potential and attraction for tourists and for those who have interest in nature.
These historical places if properly maintained, developed and proper security was provided could become major tourist attraction, she added.
She said that efforts were being made to reorganise the Culture and Tourism Department as a functional organization to introduce Sindhi culture and civilisation at national and international levels.
In Sindh, she said there were a number of historical, cultural and ancient sites on both sides of the Indus River, the mountains of Gorakh Hill are a place where a summer resort is being developed.—Correspondent
