Teenage girl raped

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 22: A 14-year-old girl, R, was found in a critical condition in a banana field near Lundo Minor, Fato Bilal union council, about two km from Moro, the other day.

A pole checking team of the Hesco, while the checking, climbed over a pole near the banana field, and spotted the girl lying unconscious.

The team leader, Mohammad Mithal Areejo, informed the Moro police, who brought the victim to the Moro Civil Hospital.

Moro police confirmed the reports, but said that FIR was not lodged as the father of the girl was of the opinion that the FIR should be lodged after she gained consciousness.

However, the entry of the incident was recorded by the police.

Dr Shahnaz of the civil hospital, who examined the victim, said that she was raped.

The doctor confirmed that there were three fractures on her left arm and she had burn marks, caused due to electric shocks, on almost all parts of her body.

She added that due to burn and torture wounds, worms were crawling on her body.

The father of the girl, G.H., and her brother, M.A, told this scribe that girl was kidnapped from the field. The father had complained to the Nazim of Fato Bilal union council, Mir Mohammad Solangi, for her recovery.

The father of the girl told Dawn that when he and his brother, G.S., went to the Moro police station to lodge an FIR against an accused, who was son of manager of one landlord of the area, the Moro police, instead of lodging the FIR, sent them to lockup.

He alleged that the police were afraid of the landlord. He said that they were continuously receiving threats for dire consequences in case they lodged FIR against the culprits.
