KARACHI: Six suspects remanded

KARACHI, April 8: The administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts in Karachi, Khawaja Naveed Ahmed, on Tuesday remanded six suspects in police custody till

April 21.

The suspects are allegedly involved in the killing of two officials of the Intelligence Bureau in the limits of the Preedy police station on March 27.

An Anti-Violent Crime Unit (AVCU) team had arrested the suspects, Umer Farooq, Tariq Mohammad, Mohammad Saeed, Mohammad Adnan, Razaullah and Mohammad Salman, during raids in different parts of the city on April 7.

According to the prosecution, Sub-inspector Mohammed Ibrahim and ASI Fazalur Rahman of the Intelligence Bureau were gunned down by unknown motorcyclists on March 27 near Regal Chowk, in Saddar.

They were taken to the Civil Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

The police had registered a case (FIR No178//08) under Section 302/34 read with Section-7 of the Anti-terrorism Act at the Preedy police station.
