RAWALPINDI, Oct 23: An accountability court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a corruption reference against the former Punjab chief minister, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, till October 30.
The judge, Accountability Court No. 1, Rustam Ali Malik, adjourned the hearing as prosecution witnesses and lawyers did not come to the court.
The defence lawyer, Dr Babar Awan, was present in the court with the accused, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo.
In the reference, filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the former chief minister has been accused of misappropriating funds in the purchase of an aircraft for the Punjab government.
The accused has already been convicted by an accountability court of Lahore in another reference and is now serving his sentence in a jail. — APP
