SHIKARPUR, April 7: The ongoing Mahar-Jatoi feud claimed yet another life of a Mahar tribesman in the jurisdiction of Lakhi Gate police station on Monday. The feud had taken over two dozen lives from both sides during last three months with no accused arrested so far, by police.
Mohammad Ramzan Mahar of Shahi Bagh Road, Shikarpur was shot dead near Plaza Cinema Road while going in his car with a lawyer Naseer Ahmed Lodhi.
The body was brought to the Civil Hospital Shikarpur for post-mortem. No FIR was registered till the filing of the report.
With joint efforts of district administration and notables, Jirga had been scheduled for April 11 and 12 at Sukkur Circuit House to settle the feud.
Meanwhile, two villagers were killed in a clash between Jafri and Marfani tribesmen in village Saalaro Marfani taluka Garhi Yasin on Monday.
Moula Bux Marfani and Muhammad Paryal Jafri were killed in the firing when Jafri and Marfani tribesmen clashed in Saalaro Marfani village in Kutcha Area of taluka Garhi Yasin.
The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem at taluka hospital Garhi Yasin.
The motive behind the incident was said to be a quarrel over cattle grazing.
The Golo Daro police did not register a case till the filing of this report.
KIDNAPPED: A villager was kidnapped by armed men in the jurisdiction of Khanpur police station late on Sunday night. Armed men kidnapped Sadoro Jhullan from Bachal Jhullan village on gunpoint while sleeping at his agricultural land.
