SIALKOT, April 1: A local court granted on Tuesday a 14-day judicial remand of four accused drug pushers. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Sialkot claimed a week ago that it had seized more than 31kgs heroin, worth Rs620 million, packed in soccer balls from a sports goods manufacturing factory at Uggoki.
The ANF official said accused Chaudhry Iqbal Ghuman, Naseer, Ismaeel and Muhammad Khan had planned to smuggle the consignment to Spain.
The ANF produced the four accused before the court of Sialkot Civil Judge Muhammad Sajjawal Khan amid tight security. The court will take up the case on April 14.
VISIT: Sialkot District and Sessions Court Judge Suhaib Ahmad Roomi visited the Sialkot District Jail and listened to the problems of prisoners. He ordered the release of 37 prisoners involved in petty cases.
