HYDERABAD, March 25: Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro, his brothers, including a nazim, were booked by the Hatri police here on Tuesday after a police constable, was recovered in a severely tortured condition from a place on Monday. His both hands were cut off from wrists.
Constable Ali Hassan Solangi of Hatri police station was kidnapped from Hatri area when he came out from a mosque after prayers.
Later he was recovered from Deh Shah Bukhari in a critical condition.
He was immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Both of his hands have been amputated from wrists, his nose has a mark of cut, while he has bullet wounds on his thigh. He was lying unconscious in ICU ward.
Solangi is a process server — a policeman who serves court notices — and had gone to Hatri for official work when he was allegedly waylaid by the accused.
The Hatri police have lodged a case on the complaint of his nephew, Javed Solangi, under sections 174, 148, 149, 114, 334, 336, 324 365-A of the PPC vide crime no 57/08.
Noor Mohammad Shoro, his brother and Qasimabad UC-4 Nazim Deedar Shoro, councillor of the said UC, Ganhwar Chandio, Shoro’s brother Jam Khan Shoro, Fateh Mohammad Shoro, Haneef Shoro and Hayat Chandio have been booked in the case.
The victim was allegedly kidnapped by Noor Mohammad, Jam Khan and two other men in a car and was taken to Deh Shah Bukhari.
The victim said that he could identify the other two men who, he claimed, were of Brohi caste. He claimed that Deedar shot him with firearm and others cut off his hands.
According to Solangi’s brothers, Sikandar Ali and Asif Ali, the gory incident took place in the backdrop of 2005 local bodies elections during which Deedar and others were beaten by Rangers at a polling station in Qasimabad. They suspected that Solangi was behind it as he was on duty during that time.
However, Noor Mohammad denied the charges and said he did not know Solangi.
He said that his brother Jam Khan was in Islamabad and Deedar has undergone a heart surgery in Karachi. He said that they are not that cruel.
