Troops trade fire after Kashmir blasts

JAMMU, April 18: Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire on Thursday in Kashmir after militants entered the Indian zone and set off more than two dozen explosions, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) said.

Suspected militants set off timed devices along the international border in the RS Pora sector, some 45km south of Kashmir’s winter capital Jammu, a BSF spokesman said.

“The Pakistani intruders wanted to disrupt fencing work,” he said.—AFP
