Mobile phone snatching on the rise

SUKKUR, March 18: Incidents of cellular phone snatching in Sukkur and its surrounding areas has become a routine affair forcing the people to use the device in a cautious manner. Two such incidents of phone snatching took place in Sukkur on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

In the first incident armed persons overpowered a private TV channel cameraman Abdullah Mangi and deprived him of cash and mobile phone in Thermal Colony in the jurisdiction of C-Section police station.

In another incident, armed men snatched Rs 1,500 and a mobile phone from Mohammad Ali at Dubba Road, Old Sukkur. Condemning the incident, the office-bearers of the cameramen and press photographers association demanded of the police to control the rising trend of crime. They pledged to stage a strong protest drive in case of failure.
