Man, sons among six killed

GUJRANWALA, March 18: Six people, including a man and his two sons, were shot dead allegedly by rivals over a land dispute at Wahando on Tuesday.

Reports said Mian Munir Ahmad Arian and Ghulam Haider Jat of Nadha village had a dispute of land measuring two kanals and six marla for the last two years. A few days ago they had a quarrel over the issue. But the elders of the village reconciled them.

On Tuesday, Ghulam Haider Jat and his two sons, Younas and Ijaz, were present at their outhouse along with their relatives Master Zubair, Asif and Sufian when Mian Munir, his brother Liaquat and others came there and shot them dead. The accused managed their escape, resorting to aerial firing.

On information, the Wahando SHO and other senior police officers reached the spot and removed the bodies to Gujranwala DHQ hospital for autopsy. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
