LAHORE, March 14: Capital City Police Officer (Additional IG) Malik Muhammad Iqbal has directed the police officers to take stern action against those involved in spreading bomb hoax, especially in campuses.

The CCPO said special teams be constituted to unearth such anti-social elements and cases under anti-terrorism act should be registered against them.

In a circular addressed to the SSP (Operations), all divisional SPs, supervisory police officers (SPOs) and SHOs, the CCPO said the people spreading rumors of bomb hoax in schools and colleges did not deserve any leniency as they were creating panic among parents, students and the general public as well.

He also asked the officers to intensify patrolling around the educational institutions besides deployment of mobile and Mohafiz squads.

The CCPO appealed to citizens and parents not to be scared over rumours as all available resources were being utilised for their safety.
