PESHAWAR, Feb 27: The local police on Wednesday thwarted an attempted act of terrorism and recovered a remote control bomb that was planted at the Ring Road in the limits of Peshtakhara police station.

Police said the explosive was concealed in a water cooler and was put along the road, set to explode. Police, on a tip-off, called officials of the bomb disposal squad, who disposed of the explosive. A case against unidentified persons was registered at the police station.
