LAHORE, Feb 23: Valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a motorcycle repairing workshop in Karim Block of Iqbal Town on Saturday.
No human loss or injury was reported in the incident.
Rescue 1122 officials said the workshop owned by one Shahzad Qaiser caught fire owing to a short circuit. The blaze engulfed the four-room shop owing to burning of petrol and mobil oil.
Firefighters took at least an hour to overcome the blaze. The whole showroom burnt completely but the first floor of the plaza remained safe, the rescuers said.
Owner of the workshop claimed that he had suffered a loss of Rs5 million but the Rescue 1122’s estimate was Rs1 million.
