VEHARI, Feb 22: A youth committed suicide after being disheartened over to the defeat of her aunt in the Feb 18 elections here on Friday.

Family sources say the nephew of PP-236 candidate Nafisa Asif, 23-year-old Talha, was depressed due to her defeat. On Friday, he ended his life by consuming pesticides. He was rushed to hospital but could not survive. City police are looking into the matter.

WOMAN KILLED: A woman was allegedly killed by her brother on a domestic issue in Chak No 461/EB, Burewala. Family sources say Asma Bibi beat her six-year-old son. Her brother Aslam came there and asked her to stop beating the son. But she continued beating him, which infuriated Aslam and he axed her to death. Her six-year-old son also was also injured and admitted to hospital. Saddar Police are investigating.
