KHANEWAL, Feb 21: Challenging the polling results in NA-157 (Khanewal-II) on Thursday, the PML-N candidate has called for a stay order and an inquiry into what he calls massive rigging.
“We have challenged the results of NA-157 which were consolidated and compiled by the returning officer,” informed Haji Irfan Ahmad Khan Daha, former provincial transport minister and father of PML-N’s Muhammad Khan Daha.
Irfan Daha said the party had objected to counting of votes, result sheets handed over to its polling agents, unofficial results issued by the returning officer and other matters. And, above all, it had reservations about rigging by the PML-Q candidate and his workers in the constituency, he said on behalf of his son.
He said the election commission would decide the PML-N’s petition within the next two days. In case of recount, he said, his son would emerge successful.
