Irfan to lead Karachi squad

KARACHI, Feb 20: Wicket-keeper/batsman Irfan Lodhi on Wednesday was named to lead Karachi Intermediate Board team in the Pakistan Inter-board Zone-II Cricket Championship starting in Multan from Feb 28.

Siraj-ul-Islam Bukhari, the selection committee chief and the KCCA Secretary while announcing the 22-member squad, said the probables’ names were finalised after trials and 16-member team and six reserves will be named soon. He also advised the players to report for practice at the TMC Ground on Thursday at 2pm.

The selected players have been asked to bring two passport-size photographs duly attested by the college principal, past mark sheet and admit cards of the SSC examinations to ascertain their eligibility.

The Karachi board team is drawn in the 11-team Zone-II group whose matches will be played in Multan.

Karachi board squad: Irfan Lodhi (Captain), Noor Butt, Talha Pervez, Talha Shabbir, Akhtar Fahim, Zubair Naseer, Talha Khan, Ahsan Ahmed, Arsalan Khan, Maroof Aziz, Mohammad Arsalan, Asmar Haider, Nabeel Hashmi, Arqam Shoaib, Junaid Ilyas, Wasim Ali, Majid Rizvi, Sohaib Khan, Anas Mahmood, Shumail Umar, Mannan Aftab and Raheel-ur-Rehman.—APP
