KARACHI, April 11: The electronics market at Abdullah Haroon Road, Saddar, remained closed for the second day, on Thursday, to protest against Wednesday’s killing of a trader and the failure of the police to arrest the absconding culprit.

However, commercial activities remained normal in the rest of Saddar.

The city police chief and DIG operations also visited the electronics market and assured the leaders of the Karachi Electronic Dealers Association of early arrest of the absconder.

Earlier, on Wednesday, two bandits attempted to snatch cash from a man at the electronics market.

The shopkeepers put up resistance against the bandits and during the scuffle, the bandits opened fire while trying to escape.

One of the bandits, later identified as Shahid, was caught but his accomplice managed to escaped.

During the scuffle, a shopkeeper, Javed Abdul Majeed, aged 42, was hit by a bullet and died on his way to the hospital.
