HYDERABAD, Feb 9: Leaders of Awami National Party (ANP) paid rich tributes to Khan Abdul Wali Khan for his struggle in strengthening democratic institutions, independence of judiciary, provincial autonomy and rights of Pakhtoons.
Speaking at his second death anniversary on Friday, General Secretary ANP Sindh Chapter, Mohammad Amin Khattak said followers of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan will defeat rulers through non-violence, policy propounded by both.
He said Pakhtoons fought and won the war against British imperialism without guns and swords. He said the ANP workers will lay their lives to complete the mission of Bacha Khan.
Khattak said murder of Fazalur Rehman has infused new blood into Pakhtoon youth to fight for their rights from Khyber to Karachi.
He said days of Pervez Musharraf were numbered and added that by creating ethnic animosities, conspiracies were being hatched to deprive Pakhtoons of their right to representation.
He said target killing of Fazalur Rehman and leaders was aimed at postponing elections.
