KARACHI, April 11: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has accepted bids for export of 129,900 tons of wheat at the rate of $104.40 per ton, it was announced here on Thursday.

The tender was floated in the last week of March for export of 100,000 tons wheat of Punjab Food Department.

Bids were opened on April 5, at TCP headquarters, in the presence of bidders.

The Price Evaluation Committee, which met on Wednesday, decided to accept the quantity 129,900 tons offered by the three parties who quoted the highest price of $104.40 per ton FOB Karachi.

Two other parties whose bids were over $100 per ton — $100.5 and $101.00 per ton for a quantity of 168,000 tons — have been asked to match their prices with the highest bid of $104.40 per ton by Friday. In case of their acceptance of the counter offer, the total quantity to be disposed of under this tender would become 297,900 tons.—APP
